Mother’s Day

“A Mother’s Day Prayer” from  www.andiesisle.com.  Thank you Andie, May GOD bless you on Mother’s Day as well.  Click here:     http://www.andiesisle.com/mothersdayprayer.html

Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor all mothers and express gratitude for the hardships they bear in bringing up a child. Most countries including the United States, Australia, Canada and India celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May. Mother’s Day came into being due to the efforts made by Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis. The Resolution for having a
dedicated ‘Mother’s Day’ was signed by US President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mother’s Day with joy and devotion.

Mother’s Day Prayer
I love you, Mom. I love your aliveness, your joy in living, your understanding, your giving.
And what I love best of all is that you love me. God of all Mothers, thank you for my mom!

From the book Friend Jesus: Prayers for Children

“All I am or can be I owe to my angel Mother.” Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President

“My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.”

George Washington, U.S. President

“I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President

“There never was a woman like her. She was gentle as a dove and brave as a lioness… The memory of my mother and her teachings were, after all, the only capital I had to start life with, and on that capital I have made my way.” Andrew Jackson, U.S. President

What does Almighty God tell us to do?

The Ten Commandments

Look at Exodus 20:12 for your instructions… “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”

Happy Mother’s Day to Katherine Williams of Cleveland, MS and Beulah Weems of Forest, MS.  We love and honor both of you!
